Lil Wayne and Kodak Black pardoned by US president Donald Trump

Rappers Lil Wayne and Kodak Black have been pardoned by Donald Trump in his last day as the president of United States of America. Lil Wayne was facing up to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty in December 2020 to federal weapons charges relating to a December 2019 incident at Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport. Wayne real name Dwayne Michael Carter Jr. was given full presidential pardon.


Kodak Black real name Bill Kahan Kapri received commutation of his sentence. Black was in prison for lying on paperwork that he was not under indictment while trying to purchase firearms.  Back had been arrested in April 2019  at the border between the United States and Canada. In March 2020, Kodak pled guilty to second degree criminal possession of a weapon.


Other names on the presidential pardon and commutation list include Steve Bannon, Sholam Weiss, Anthony Levandowski, Elliot Broidy, former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick, and Death Row Records co-founder Michael “Harry-O” Harris.
