Bits of soaring emo, snotty pop-punk, and Weezer-esque power pop surface now and again, but at this point, Johnson and his crew have a pretty good idea of who they are and what they are capable of. If 40 oz. to Fresno isn't the most ambitious entry in Joyce Manor's discography, it is at least one of their most enjoyable.

AllMusic -
Though less consciously ambitious than their previous two albums, the California power pop band’s latest is a pure refinement of their sound and feel.

Pitchfork -
Their rough-around-the-edges punk still strikes the right chords.

The shortness seems to appeal to the more limited attention spans of the so-called streaming generation. This record will probably go down well with them; however, the rest of us looking for something a bit more substantial might be left a little disappointed.
